Profile
Our Philosophy
The CREATOR has given each one of us a combination of gifts, skills, and abilities that are unique to us alone. Our combination of gifts determines the roles that we will play throughout our lives. Every Anishinabek child has potential that will unfold through a lifetime of education and learning. Learning and education begins at birth, and it is through the guidance and support of family, friends, elders, community members and teachers that the child will learn to recognize, develop, and act on their potential. Through the enactment of potential, the strength of the community is created, and the spirit of a Nation is born.
We believe that all First Nation students have the potential to achieve their academic and employment goals. Our quality programming is responsive to First Nation’s needs. We provide a comfortable, supportive learning environment that promotes the traditional values of sharing, caring and respect.

Student Experience
Aanii My Name is Coby Smith, I am from Chippewa of The Thames and I am a mother to one son. I have just recently graduated from the Social Service Worker; Indigenous Knowledge program at AEI. Well taking this program I was employed as well as being a trustee for the Board of Education. As I pursued this I was not sure I wanted to be in this exact program but I continued. The culture-based learning and the whole atmosphere is what kept me going, plus I had amazing classmates that brought something different to class. I have successfully graduated and found employment as a Child and Youth Worker at Antler River Elementary School and I am currently taking the First Nations Child Welfare Advocate program that I am enjoying. Next step bachelor’s in social work.
