Student Experience

Scholarships and Bursaries

Our scholarship program is one of the most generous in Canada. It rewards not only your pre-university academic achievements, but also your achievements every term of full-time study at University. A scholarship is awarded for academic achievements while a bursary is awarded based on financial need. The University of Ottawa offers on average $12 million per year in scholarships to international students.

Students enrolled in a program taught in French or in the French Immersion Stream are eligible for a Differential Tuition Fee Exemption Scholarship. This generous contribution to tuition fees paid by these international students will significantly reduce their cost of study. The value of the Differential Tuition Fee Exemption Scholarship depends on the program.

Did you know that living in residence during your first year of undergrad can improve your GPA and your chances of graduating? Living in residence comes with lots of academic and practical support, plus:
